Guide

Indoor vs outdoor padel courts

Both work well. The right choice depends on your site, your players and your plans for year-round play.

Indoor

Indoor courts

  • Play all year, whatever the weather
  • Panoramic and Super Panoramic designs show off play
  • Needs a suitable building, clear height and level floor
  • Planning focus is usually on change of use rather than the court
Outdoor

Outdoor courts

  • No building needed, so often quicker to get going
  • Standard design is fully framed for wind resistance
  • Needs a level, well-drained base
  • Floodlighting and neighbours often matter at planning
Choosing

Questions to ask about your site

  • Do you have a building with enough clear height, or open land?
  • Will players expect to play all year?
  • Is the site exposed to wind?
  • Are there lighting or noise considerations for neighbours?
  • Is a covered or canopy option worth considering?

Not sure? Tell us about your site and we'll advise on the best design. See the cost guide and installation process.
