FAQ

Padel court questions

How much does a padel court cost in the UK?

It depends on the court design, how many courts you need and your site. Our factory-direct courts start from £19,500 per court including UK delivery and professional installation, which is typically around 30% less than buying through a distributor. Groundworks, any building or canopy, and planning costs are separate and vary by site. See our padel court cost guide for more detail.

What is included in the price of a padel court?

The court itself (steel frame, tempered safety glass, mesh, artificial turf, net and LED floodlights), UK delivery, professional installation, technical and safety documentation, and aftercare with warranty on the courts.

Do I need planning permission for a padel court?

Often, yes, particularly for outdoor courts, floodlights or a canopy, and for indoor courts that involve a change of use of a building. Every council is different. Noise, lighting and neighbours are the usual considerations. We supply technical and safety documentation to support your application.

What groundworks does a padel court need?

A padel court needs a suitable flat, level base, usually a reinforced concrete slab or a well-built porous base with drainage for outdoor courts. An existing tennis court, slab or hardstanding can often be reused or adapted, which can save cost. We can share the base specification and talk through your site before you commit.

Can a padel court go on an existing tennis court?

In many cases, yes. Several padel courts can fit on the footprint of a tennis court, and an existing hard court may need less groundwork than a greenfield site. Its condition, levels and drainage need checking first.

How much space does a padel court need?

A doubles playing area is 20 × 10 m, so allow a little extra around the court for installation and access. Singles courts are narrower, and mini courts are smaller again, which helps on tight sites.

How long does a padel court project take?

Timescales depend mainly on planning and groundworks. Once the base is ready, installing a court on site is usually a matter of days rather than weeks. Manufacturing and delivery lead times vary, so we confirm the timeline in your quote.

Can I see your padel courts before I buy?

Yes. Our courts are installed at our own Velocity Padel centres in Wigan and Widnes, and you are welcome to arrange a visit to see them in play.

Which padel court design should I choose?

Standard courts are fully framed for rigidity and wind resistance, which suits outdoor and exposed sites. Panoramic courts have slimmer framing for a clearer view, and Super Panoramic courts give uninterrupted glass for show courts. We also supply singles and mini courts.

Do you install padel courts indoors and outdoors?

Yes. We supply and install courts for indoor halls and warehouses as well as outdoor sites, including covered and canopy projects. Indoor courts need enough clear height and a level floor.

Do padel courts come with lighting?

Yes. The standard specification includes 8 × 200 W LED floodlights, IP65 rated. Some planning permissions set conditions on lighting hours or spill, so it is worth checking early.

Where in the UK do you install padel courts?

Across the UK. We are based in the North West, so we regularly work in Wigan, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire, and we deliver and install throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Who installs the courts?

Our experienced European installation team, who install padel courts professionally. You deal with one UK contact from your first enquiry to handover.

Can you help us run the club once the courts are in?

Yes. We run our own padel centres, so we can help with court layout, Playtomic setup, balls and rental rackets, ball machines and our Velocity Connect software for filling open matches.
